The Original Sushi Competition 2003 Grand Winner is Chikako Aoki, with her sumptuous sushi design Miso Mozzarella. Chikako's design beat off competition from the other 19 finalists, who were selected from the 600 entries received for this year's contest. Chikako scooped the top prize of two return tickets to Japan, courtesy of All Nippon Airways plus one year's supply of Asahi beer, at the Final Event , which was held at Matsuri, High Holborn on Tuesday 8th April. The event was a splendid occasion; and was attended by 200 guests including celebrity judges, contestants, press, and lucky members of the public. Celebrity chef Ross Burden chaired the panel of judges and congratulated all the winners on the night.
You can now taste for yourself Miso Mozzarella, which is featured on the menus of Matsuri High Holborn and St James', Moshi Moshi Sushi, and Feng Sushi.
